Add Closed Captions to Video Chat

There have been many adjustments when it comes to working from home. Video calls have become the norm. Those who are hearing impaired may need some assistance when it comes to setting up their closed captions for programs like Skype or Microsoft Teams.

Subtitles In Skype:
During an audio or video call, click the More button, then select Turn subtitles on. Subtitles should instantly turn on. You should be able to view the subtitle history by clicking the up button. Go to Preferences (on a Mac) or Settings (on Windows), then select the Calling section followed by the Call subtitles item. Make sure Show subtitles for all calls is enabled.

Subtitles in Microsoft Teams:

In order to activate closed captioning for Microsoft Teams, go to Settings and select the Turn on new meeting experience option under Application – use the More actions menu to Turn on live captions. Once enabled, you should see a real-time transcript of what is being said.

That good!
